Growing up in New England and the Mid-Atlantic area, Christine Lashley was always painting or drawing in the woods and fields nearby. She studied in Paris at the Parsons Art Institute and the Sorbonne and continued on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.

After graduating she worked for several years as a muralist and designer, but turned her interest to fine art soon thereafter. She has exhibited her work in many cities including: Seattle, St. Louis, Boston, and Paris, France.

Christine often works 'en plein air,' capturing fleeting light patterns and atmospheric conditions on-site. Frequent painting locations are: The Potomac River, Great Falls in VA and MD; the C & O Canal, Riverbend Park, McLean side roads, and Oatlands Plantation and Gardens in Leesburg.

Portraits and landscape commissions are accepted on a limited basis, please contact the artist to see if there is an opening in the schedule. Christine shows her work often in local and national shows, and has been an art instructor for over 10 years.
