Paint the Beauty of Tuscany on an Organic Farm Estate

Christine Lashley's Italy Workshop, summer 2018

Tuscany, Italy, 2018

Paint Plein-Air in Tuscany! Learn to paint the best of Italy: Near Siena, fly in and out of Florence. Rooms will be in in the estate section of the property. There is a pool; and about 3,000 acres of forest, livestock pastures, organic vegetable gardens, olive trees, etc. All media welcome. Instructor demos in watercolor and oil. Exact dates TBA. Includes all transportation, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) except Sat. dinner, and meals while in Florence. Day-trips to hill towns to paint and/or shop. Our wonderful pastoral organic farm retreat has been written up in BonAppetit , Travel + Leisure Magazine and many other publications as a favorite 'green hotel'.

Optional classes (and tasting!) during free time, and for guests, in: Wine, Olive Oil, Prosciutto, Cooking, Pasta, and more!

Guests may come on this trip but must share a room with a painter. Single rooms available. Private baths available.

Contact Christine to be on the pre-notify list for this trip.

Dinners are served family-style and 'al-fresco' on the terrace when possible. We will share our meals with other guests, residents, interns and any family members who might also be on the property during our stay. Fresh, seasonal, farm-to-table foods will be offered. The farm makes it's own honey, jam, pasta, olive oil, prosciutto, organic vegetables, wine, and has a wood-fired pizza oven.

The farm estate is a working historic farm, wildlife preserve and educational center, not a hotel. Facilities, and services at the Castello are designed for comfort and convenience but are not luxurious. The primary goal of the estate is the preservation of its historic and rustic character; as a consequence, visitors will enjoy a rare glimpse into a true Tuscan lifestyle of beauty and tranquility.
